More Birch

Birch is coming along nicely. I just started the third (mistreated) ball.

It's going well so far, although the Kidsilk Haze isn't the easiest yarn to work with. I certainly can relate to Biba, who complained about all the k2togtbl's! I changed to different needles, that have slightly pointier points which makes it a bit easier. I was also thinking that maybe you could do ssk's instead of k2togtbl. I'm even wondering if the original pattern has ssk's (I'm using a Dutch translation). Can anyone enlighten me about this?

Sam the Beagle

You're all right, Sam is a cute dog, and sweet most of the time. If you want to see more of his adventures, go visit his Beagle-friend Noortjes blog (in Dutch). Sam features in it from time to time. Noortje is also a very nice dog, and just as lively as Sam!

Ik heb Birch gebreid in juni. Speciaal bamboenaalden voor gekocht die goed puntig waren, met een Addi rondbreinaald lukte het totaal niet. Lekker kleurtje heeft de jouwe!

i have just checked rowan 34, and the english pattern does indeed say k2tog tbl

...so you have been doing it correctly all along. when i made my birch i used bamboo needles which were just lovely to knit with and had a really nice point. maybe that would help. although, if you are on your third ball you are very very close to finishing. i only ended up using 2.5 balls in total.

Yeah, Sam is a cute dog, but his big ears are there only for the fun, not for any kind of listening...

And Saar, as promised, here the full details on the flower pattern, which you can see on both sides of your site. The flowers are originally designed by "Maija Isola" (Finland), the so-called "Stof Unikko" design. The original flowers are dark blue though. Finland... well thats a far cry. Keep knitting! It all looks awesome.
