Summer is gone....

The weather has been cold and wet here lately. It's supposed to be summer, but I'm turning on the heat and wearing wool sweaters. It feels like autumn, in august!

It's a good thing I've only got about half a sleeve to do on my alpaca USM Pullover. That will keep me warm when the real cold comes.

Here's a bit of summer: a stag beetle I photographed in Spain about a month ago.

Stag beetles are the most beautiful creatures. The males fly around on warm summer evenings, looking for females. In the Netherlands, they were almost extinct, but they're supposed to be making something of a return. There are (small) populations on the Veluwe and close to Nijmegen. I was really hoping to see one over here this year, but I'm afraid it's just too cold. I'm glad I managed to take this picture!

Dear Saartje,

This is a really an awfull summer indeed. It's cold and wet, but refuse to turn on the heating yet! I had to cancel my camping trip with Noor. I do hope we'll get a vew more nice sunny days!!

I almost finished my first sock. Maby I prefer knitting sweaters and cardigans. Although knitting socks doesn't take as many time as sweaters. And... how many sweaters does one need?

Good luck with your sweater! It looks lovely already!

With love, Manon
