Block the sock

Nothing exciting is going on right now. I'm still knitting the Mega Boots Socks, I'm almost down to the second toe.

Allison asked: I love the picture of that hanging sock! How did you get it to look so perfect? Did you block it? Or is it in a form?

To make the sock look like that, I put it on this:

It's a sock blocker, made from a wire coat hanger! I found the instructions here. It's really easy to make, the hardest part was finding the coat hanger in the first place. Somehow they don't seem to be available in the Netherlands.

I don't really block socks at all, I just use it when taking pictures. I think it makes the socks look much better, especially when it has a stitch pattern that draws in a lot.

where on earth did you find that coat hanger?? I'm trying to find them also but no luck yet.

coat hangers like these are often used by the dry cleaners'!
