Mini mitten
Brrr, it's still cold over here. Okay, it's not freezing, but my Herringbone Gloves get a lot of use. And I'm wearing my wristwarmers every day. They really do help to keep warm!
In the category 'just for fun' I made a Latvian mini mitten:

I used a pattern from the fantastic book Latvian Mittens by Lizbeth Upitis. I really love this book. There's a lot of eye candy in it, picture after picture of the most beautiful patterned mittens, like this one for example.
It also has a pattern for mini mittens, with serveral charts. You can't really use them for anything, not even for dolls (because the thumb has no opening), but they're so much fun!
Here is a picture of the mini mitten together with a tea light for size reference:

I'm not sure if I'll make a pair or just start a different one. I want to make them all!

That is so cute! I have that same problem-I want to make all these mittens. That book is on my list of things to buy.

A collection of those little mittens could make a wonderful decoration or collection for somewhere in the house. Very very cute. I've been wanting to do one of those looped edgings since I first saw one.

The mini mitten is so cute.. you could put them on a Christmas tree... string a bunch together to make a garland for a tree..put little love notes/tokens in the top and give as gifts.. so many uses for such a cute object!

I actually had the same thought as Willow - thread some ribbon through the top to make a loop and... voila! Instant Christmas Ornament. They'd make wonderful gifts!

This was the cutest mitten I have ever seen. It made me decide to buy this book that I have been looking at for so long now. I have now ordered it from Amazon.com.
Your blog is so lovely, I have read everyting today and I will come back many times.
Have a nice day!

I love this little mitten but I cannot get my hands on this book - seems it is out of print. Would anyone be willing to share one or two of these patterns?
