I finished my mohair scarf.

I ended up using two balls of the mohair/silk blend I bought in France (77% mohair, 23% silk, in 25 g balls ~ 125 m). When knitting a scarf, I always find it difficult to determine when to stop. A scarf should be long enough to wear comfortably, but not too long because then it will be too heavy and stretch out. The right length also depends on the width of the scarf, and the material you're using. Anyway, I just knitted until the second ball ran out, and the scarf is now over 1.5 m long.
A detail of the stitch pattern:

I found the pattern here. I don't know if the scarf will get a lot of wear, because the mohair is a bit scratchy. I do love the color though.

Follow this link to see what I would really like to knit. It is designed by Eunny Jang, the author of the wonderful knitting blog See Eunny Knit (do check it out if you haven't already, and be sure to take a look at the technical articles in the right side bar). She tells us the pattern will be published in the winter issue of Interweave Knits. Such a long time I will have to wait!

My blog got mentioned in the July issue of the Dutch Marie Claire (right at the bottom):

Of course, it's not my favorite magazine Marie Claire Idées, but it's still nice to be included in a positive little piece on knitting. Thanks to Saskia for pointing it out to me!

Beautiful scarf! I have some red mohair blend. But so many projects still not finished. Yeah, saw you mentioned. But I came by a different route (don't ask me which).

Isn't that a nice scarf! I really like the pattern. You picked a beautiful colour too! But it's strange, because I'm knitting with Kidsilk Haze right now, and that should be the same kind of yarn, but I don't think it's scratchy at all - rather the opposite. Good job anyway!

What a beautiful scarf! That stitch pattern looks so nice with the mohair, and the color is great, too.
I want to make that sweater by Eunny, too! Isn't it cool?

Congratulations on the magazine mention! How fun.
I like your scarf very much -- you might try wearing it under the collar of a shirt or coat -- not against your skin. I have a "fuzzy" scarf that's a little itchy -- if I wear it around the outside of my shirt collar, it adds some color and warmth without scratching my neck.

What does it say about you?!? That's so cool!
I love the mohair scarf. The stitch pattern turns it into something so different than the lacy stuff that's usually done. Lovely.

Your scarf is lovely. I love the blue. Eunny's knits are just amazing and so complicated looking. I will look forward to seeing you version.

Marie Claire, how exciting!
love the scarf, could wear with a tutleneck during winter, that way, its warm, fashionable and not on you neck.

Congratulations on your print debut! How exciting!
Love the scarf - it's too bad that it's scratchy - will you wear it on the outside of a coat/sweater?

What a lovely stitch pattern! It works quite well with the mohair.

I too love that jumper, and think I'm destined to buy my first issue of IK...
Congratulations on being mentioned in MC! I screwed up my eyes but even when I could read it perfectly it was all Dutch to me... ;) - what does it say?

Love the scarf! I'm currently trying to knit it with Drops Alpaca, it is really soft and shows the pattern very well.
Did you use bamboo needles for knitting this scarf?

Een prachtige kleur blauw! Terecht dat je breiblog wordt genoemd in MC. Je blog ziet er altijd fantastisch uit!!!

I like the look of your scarf a lot and at least it looks very soft. I would have thought the silk made the yarn less itchy. Maybe not then. I love the stylish simplicity of the stitch pattern you picked.
I too am a big fan oh Eunny's. I started following her blog maybe two months after she started it. It's been fascinating to follow all her incredible accomplishments. I love her attention to detail. I don't think I could knit such a intriquet piece of colourwork quite yet. I'm sure you could pull that one off, though:)

... and congrats on being featured in the magazine! That's great and your blog certainly deserves it too:D

Hoi Saartje! Great scarf. I have a skein of green mohair lying around and yet to make my first lace project. I'm totally copying you and making that scarf! (and thanks for the link!) :-)
