Still knitting
There's not much news from the knitting front, except this:

I started a stole/scarf from the Kidsilk Night I got at the SnB-day in Rotterdam. It's based on the Party Lace Scarf from Magknits. I didn't get the Swarovski beads as they're quite expensive, and I cast on more stitches than called for for the scarf. Originally, I wanted to finish this thing so I could wear it on Christmas. Well....
Last week, I got a belated Sinterklaas gift. Look:

Five small amounts of carded wool, dyed with natural dyes. I was so surpised, as I got this from someone who isn't into handcrafting/needleworking at all, but who recognized the wool as something I might like. Those are the best gifts! I don't know what I'll use it for yet, maybe some needle felting. Luckily, I have two weeks off of work after Christmas. Crafting time!

Hey Saartje, that stuff looks great knitted up. I made a mental note to get that yarn soon at the S'nB day, it's fab! And it's going to be a really pretty and festive shawl! (maybe new year?) ;-)

The wool looks soft as a cloud! Sinterclass found a great gift!
The scarf looks beautiful, I like the sparkle in the yarn.
I will not be wearing the sweater I thought would be a Christmas gift to myself either. Maybe a New Year's gift for myself? I need to figure out the confusing directions at the neckline. I've put the garment aside and picked up the practice yarn to figure it out.

The scarf will be wonderful in the yarn you chose and the sparkle in the yarn itself will definitely compensate for the lack of crystals, although I like the crystals in the original design a lot. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year with lots of great knitting.

Wat een prachtige wol voor de sjaal, en wat een mooie gekaarde wol. Kijk even bij Jose (Breiboek) voor een ideetje: hele lieve beestjes van gekaarde wol!
