Almost there...
We're almost done moving. We still have to clean up the house we left and unpack lots of boxes in the new house, but things are starting to settle down. Finally!
My knitting stuff is finding its new place, little by little. Here are my knitting books (some of them) and my sock yarn (most of it).
My other yarn is still in boxes like these:
Mind you, some of these boxes contain T's computer stuff (but then again, not all my yarn boxes are in this picture...). It is tiring, but also kind of inspiring to go through all the yarn I have. But first I want to try to finish this:
It's the shaped cardigan from Poetry in Stitches and it is coming along just fine as you can see. Besides this cardigan, you'll notice me knitting more and more things like this:
A small baby cardigan from Simple Knits for Cherished Babies. Time to break the big news: T and I are expecting a little one at the end of May. Very exciting indeed and lots of small knits ahead!

How wonderful! Congratulations to you. The baby sweater is just darling. I love the patterns in "Simple knits for cherished babies" Another lovely book for kid knits is "Simply Baby" by Debbie Bliss.
I LOVE Solveig Hisdal's patterns, though many of them are too boxy to look good on my body. But the fitted silhouette of your cardi will look lovely, once the baby is out of your tummy and snuggled into your arms.

Congratulations! That is great news!
The birth of my children had a very negative effect on my available knitting and reading time. Knitting is back to normal now (or even more than it used to be), but reading books is still down to one or two a year. And that used to be a lot more!

And what a wonderful array of sock yarns you have! So many nice solid colors. Do you have a favorite internet shop where you purchase these yarns that you can recommend? I know of a number of great online shops in the US, but their selection leans heavily towards handpainted/ variegated yarns. It would be nice to find a place to get the basics!

Gefeliciteerd Saartje, wat een geweldig nieuws. Het is leuk om voor je kindje te breien en kinderen vinden het ook leuk als je voor ze breit, tenminste die van mijn wel.
Mooie kast voor je garen, wel confronterend lijkt me om al dat garen te zien dat je nog 'moet' verwerken. Zelf heb ik ook nog een behoorlijke voorraad en als ik in een winkel dan wat moois zie dan heb ik vaak het het gevoel dat ik het dan niet 'mag' kopen.

Als moeder van een jongetje van anderhalf kan ik je zeggen dat het geweldig is, een kind. En inspirerend! Ik heb al veel mooie dingen gemaakt, achter de naaimachine. (Eén truitje slechts gebreid, op Texel, met katoen van De witte engel).
En heel veel woonplezier in de mooiste stad van Nederland.

en nu weet ik ook waar je dat mooie bamboepakket dat je voor een babytruitje of vestje in frankrijk gekocht heb, ik meen vorige zomer, er staat me ook iets bij van een lieveheersbeestje, waar dat voor gebruikt zal worden...of zit ik er naast...
geniet van deze mooie tijd, ik hoop dat alles goed blijft gaan!

What a wonderful news. Congratulations. Children are still wonderfull when they are 2m (plus something).
I have been knitting for him untill he was 7 years. All the knitting is still there, I never was able to give it to somebody else. And his brother didn't like 'kriebel-truien'.

This must be your entry that has elicited the most comments ever. But I am going to add mine anyway. Congratulations! I suspected something when you first showed us the Marie Claire baby booklet, and I noticed at the SNB meeting, of course. Absolutely lovely.
