Old friend
This week, I restarted knitting on a cardigan I started in January. I just noticed I didn't even put it in the side bar under 'work in progress' yet. The poor side bar has been completely neglected, but I'm afraid I won't get around to updating it any time soon. Oh well, such is life with a newborn, and I'd rather spend my spare time knitting. So I started the second sleeve of the shaped cardigan from Poetry in Stitches:
It's going pretty fast, I'm almost halfway. I also closed the shoulder seams, so I could try it on. I did, and now I have this nagging feeling it might be a little too small... I'll have to wait until I've blocked it to be sure, garter stitch can be unpredictable (or maybe that's just wishful thinking...). If the circumference really is too small, I guess I can add some garter stitch rows to the fronts. We'll see.
Five minutes after taking the above picture, some else had taken an interest in the cardigan:
That would be Panter. Cats....
Last Sunday, I went to a craft market and I got myself some lovely vintage buttons.

Some of them are made of glass. The booth I got them at has a website where you can order buttons online: http://www.grootmoedersknoopendoos.nl/.
That's it for now. Thank you all so much for your comments, they really make my day. I'm sorry I won't be able to reply to all of them, but I'll try my best!

Oooh, I love the green ones with the little stitches on them! Very sweet. Pretty cardigan too. The color is such a soft, lovely shade.

What a lovely cardigan (and a cute kitty -- they sure do know what they like to lie on)! The buttons are great, too.

Vintage buttons are such a treasure, and you seem to have found some amazing ones. As for the cat, well that's just typical, isn't it!;)

What a lovely cardigan and splendid buttons, too.
don't worry about the cardigan. Even if it is a bit too small, you are very likely to loose weight over the next couple of months. That is one of the effects of the life with a newborn and breast feeding as well.
I am totally in awe, that you find time to blog!

The cardigan looks great, really nice color :-) I have seen a couple of knitters beeing suprised that it became too big after finishing, so be careful not to add to much. It may become to big, espesially over the hips.

The sweater is pretty even with the kitty on it. Cats are known for the refined taste after all.

The sweater is just beautiful, Saartje - I'm totally impressed that you can do all that knitting with a baby on hand, as well! Knitting moms are amazing. :) Lovely little buttons, too! ~Gabriella

Love the knitting, so pretty. I hope it blocks out okay for you and fits. Nothing worse than putting so much work into something and then finding it not the way you were planning it to be. Those buttons are so cute, must have a peek at their website. You have achieved quite a bit of knitting too whilst having a small baby too.

Wow, I love the shaping on that sweater. It's so graceful. And I REALLY hope it fits you perfectly.
Congratulations on your new baby, by the way. I like to say about my boys that they gave me a few grey hairs but also most of my smile lines :) Kids are awesome.
Thank you too, for posting the pattern for the baby bootees with straps. They're so cute! And on my list of things-to-knit.

Found your site via the bootees. Big congrats on the baby from Montana. Yay for breastfeeding and cloth diapers!
You are such a wonderful knitter!

The cardigan is definitely going to be lovely & the dusty purple colour is beautiful. Hope your baby daughter is doing well. Great that you have been able to knit & blog again.

oh your cardigan looks lovely...maybe it's just the tension thats a bit off because you put it down for a long time? I bet it will be fine when you sew it together and block it. I love the pattern too!

Can't wait to see the finished cardigan. The pattern's lovely!
